Current list of working gamebox links?

Post by Easy »

Does anyone know of any sites that still have ZunTzu gameboxes for download?

I use ZunTzu for prototyping and haven't actually collected any other games for it, but between the pandemic and the website going down I'm thinking I should start a (much belated) collection.

Jerome may put the list of gameboxes that was on this site back up at some point, but if I recall correctly, most of those links were broken anyway.

Any help or discussion is appreciated!

Did some digging and found these (May, 2020):

http://limeyyankgames.co.uk/zuntzu
This appears to be the only well curated list of working links to a bunch of gameboxes. They are all wargames.

https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/2903 ... ine-zuntzu
Geeklist with a lot of games, mostly dead links. Some work.

http://zuntzuniacos.blogspot.com/
This is a mother lode of popular games...but all of the download links are dead. An alternate source for these would be amazing...

https://www.gmtgames.com/p-775-twilight ... nting.aspx
GMT hosts a working gamebox of TS here.

https://rpggeek.com/geeklist/36652/boar ... directory/
Another geeklist with some working links (but mostly not). Interestingly, one of the working links is a file made by Jerome and still hosted here...

https://web.archive.org/web/20190701145 ... /files.htm
This is the wayback machine's archive of this site's list. Mostly dead mediafire links, unfortunately. Some still work, including the gameboxes made by Jerome and hosted on ZunTzu.com. A tantalizing master list of what once was...

Seems like the real challenge is finding someone who backed up (all, some or most of) the entire collection and is willing to upload them again somewhere.

Hi Easy,

What an effort!!

One of the things I like about ZT is it's special ability in recording any boardgame for posterities sake. While producing a box, a designer normally scans all the original parts in full, including the counter sheet. Vassal/Tabletopia/CB, by example, is best designed with single counters and sometimes loses the individual counter's information. This is one of the main reasons I prefer ZT.

In fact, if you are interested in helping saving scans of boardgames. Let me know, ZT-boxed or not, a small group of wargamers are trying to save our hobby's history by scanning and saving games. If you would like to join this effort - - send me a PM.

Hi Easy & all ZT Folk:

See this site: http://cyber.bubulle.pagesperso-orange.fr/

Many in the US are not aware this site (I know I wasn't) - - however, if you are a Vassal/CB/ZT fellow you need to review!

So many game-box downloads :)

Highly recommended by our European ZT friends. But includes English translation! See Pierre Bulle's work - well worth the review!

So US Cool - - - >

Hi Guys,

At one time, there were many links to fan based ZTBs (ZuntZtu Boxes), here on ZT1 forums.

EASY has found and documented these old links. However, on CSW - Social, another ZT aficionado pointed out another 'lost' link:

See STEELWHIPS ZTBs (still active): www.mediafire.com/folder/yaokao3h1o4og/ZunTsu_GameBoxes

Should anyone know STEELWHIP - have him contact me on the forum or elsewhere! His work is indeed legendary and many of his ZTBs might be available for direct hosting on ZT2. His/Her information is critical to helping ZT2 success!!

Please, STEELWHIP, contact me at earliest convivence - - publisher changes are in the offing!

Happy New Year!
Chobham_1980 did an extraordinary job last year to track all those game boxes that we thought were lost.
Well done and thank you!
Jerome, ZunTzu developer.
