Post by GJK »

Hi Jerome,

I'm trying to get a buddy up and running with ZT but he's having the following problems:
PLATFORM VERSION INFO
Windows : 6.0.6000.0 (Win32NT)
Common Language Runtime : 2.0.50727.312
System.Deployment.dll : 2.0.50727.312 (rtmLHS.050727-3100)
mscorwks.dll : 2.0.50727.312 (rtmLHS.050727-3100)
dfdll.dll : 2.0.50727.312 (rtmLHS.050727-3100)
dfshim.dll : 2.0.50727.312 (rtmLHS.050727-3100)
SOURCES
Deployment url : http://www.zuntzu.com/install/ZunTzu.application
ERROR SUMMARY
Below is a summary of the errors, details of these errors are listed later in the log.
* Activation of http://www.zuntzu.com/install/ZunTzu.application resulted in exception. Following failure messages were detected:
+ Exception reading manifest from http://www.zuntzu.com/install/ZunTzu.application: the manifest may not be valid or the file could not be opened.
+ Manifest XML signature is not valid.
+ The service has not been started.
I'll suggest that he try Firefox, but maybe you can spot what the problem is from that error report?

Thanks!

It looks like your friend's user profile got corrupted.
One way to check that would be to have your friend create a new user account and try from that account, or is it too technical?

Do you mean his profile for the site here, or his Windows profile? Thanks Jerome.

I mean the Windows profile.
Can you ask your friend to delete this folder: "C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Apps" ? Watch out: Local Settings is a hidden folder!

More info here.
