First, very nice work with this. I already like ZunTzu much better than Vassal.

I saw the game-box.xml format description on the website, and I appreciate the detail of it, but it's also useless to an XML editor/validator. Is there by change a W3C schema or DTD available somewhere as well?

No, sorry. I wasn't expecting someone would ask for one.
W3C schema would be more accurate than a DTD because the order of the nodes usually doesn't matter.
