is it possible to define rows and columns for the back of a card sheet, thus making row 1, column 1 of the back sheet apply to row 1, column 1 of the front and so on?; or am i gonna have to define a card-section for every card back individually. it seems counters might be better for this but there are sliders that need to sit on top of these cards and if they're both counters then they'll stack instead of remain where you set them. also, since these are the games character sheets, i'd like the shuffle function in tact to make aid in random character selection.

Yes, I remember grappling with this issue a while back and not being able to get anything to work.

As you say, the only solution seems to be to individually enter the coordinates for each card (front and back).
