Scenario Help.

Post by RawMessiah »

Hello me again. :)

I have a little problem with scenarios. My 'Scenario 2' gets the same boards as 'Scenario 1'. Is this code correct?:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252" ?>
<game-box
name="Space Hulk"
description="Space Hulk is a game of desperate conflict between the Imperial Space Marines and the fearsome alien Genestealers. The action takes place on an ancient interstellar vessel known as a space hulk. Only one side will survive this deadly conflict and emerge victorious."

startup-scenario="Mission1.zts">

<game
game-box="game-box"
scenario-name="Mission2"
scenario-description="Exterminate"
scenario-copyright="RawMessiah (SpaceHulk.ZunTzu@gmail.com)">
<layout board="Mission 2" />
<layout board="M2 Setup" />

</game>

</counter-sheet>

</game-box>

I marked the scenario 2 things in bold, which should be in it.

Just as scenario 1 goes in a Mission1.zts file, scenario 2 should go in Mission2.zts file, not inside the gamebox file.

Here is my Scenario 2 code:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252" standalone="yes"?>
<game game-box="Space Hulk" hash="AARDwfvp2rTiJvIZbwqHUBGkP0c=" scenario-name="Mission 2 - Exterminate" scenario-description="Space Hulk is a game of desperate conflict between the Imperial Space Marines and the fearsome alien Genestealers. The action takes place on an ancient interstellar vessel known as a space hulk. Only one side will survive this deadly conflict and emerge victorious." scenario-copyright="Andrew Wilkinson (a_wilkinson84@hotmail.com)">

<layout board="Mission 2" left="-1557.47" top="-320.26" right="9857.14" bottom="6813.87" visible="true" />

<layout board="M2 Setup" left="-1557.47" top="-320.26" right="9857.14" bottom="6813.87" visible="true" />

<layout board="Figures" left="-1740.43" top="-629.44" right="4357.95" bottom="3182.05" />

<layout board="Blips" left="-1740.43" top="-629.44" right="4357.95" bottom="3182.05" />

<layout board="Counters" left="-1740.43" top="-629.44" right="4357.95" bottom="3182.05" />

<layout board="Reference Sheet" left="-1024.76" top="-28.19" right="2468.40" bottom="2155.04" />

</game>

But my problem is that I can't figure out how to get different boards. In this case, maps. Is this possible to change? As you can see on the code the lay-out boards have been changed, but I'd also like dto get the different playing maps, or is it only possible to change the counter-sheet settings?

You put this in the game-box file:
<map name="Mission 1" image-file="Mission1.bmp" resolution="300 dpi"/>
<map name="M1 Setup" image-file="Mission1Setup.bmp" resolution="300 dpi"/>
<map name="Mission 2" image-file="Mission1.bmp" resolution="300 dpi"/>
<map name="M2 Setup" image-file="Mission1Setup.bmp" resolution="300 dpi"/>
<map name="Reference Sheet" image-file="reference sheet.bmp" resolution="300 dpi"/>

And the rest in the Mission2.zts file.

Personally I wouldn't do it like this. Since Mission 1 and Mission 2 use the same map, I'd change it something like this:
<map name="Board 1" image-file="Mission1.bmp" resolution="300 dpi"/>
<map name="Setup 1" image-file="Mission1Setup.bmp" resolution="300 dpi"/>
...and have both Mission1.zts and Mission2.zts refer to board and setup 1. But that is just me.

If your problem is (?) that you can't get a Mission2 board for Mission2.zts:
<map name="Mission 1" image-file="Mission1.bmp" resolution="300 dpi"/>
<map name="M1 Setup" image-file="Mission1Setup.bmp" resolution="300 dpi"/>
<map name="Mission 2" image-file="Mission2.bmp" resolution="300 dpi"/>
<map name="M2 Setup" image-file="Mission2Setup.bmp" resolution="300 dpi"/>
<map name="Reference Sheet" image-file="reference sheet.bmp" resolution="300 dpi"/>
...in the game-box file.

I'd like to have two different maps for the two scenarios. THis is my game-box code for the mpas:

<map name="Mission 1" image-file="Mission1.bmp" resolution="300 dpi"/>
<map name="M1 Setup" image-file="Mission1Setup.bmp" resolution="300 dpi"/>
<map name="Mission 2" image-file="Mission1.bmp" resolution="300 dpi"/>
<map name="M2 Setup" image-file="Mission1Setup.bmp" resolution="300 dpi"/>
<map name="Reference Sheet" image-file="reference sheet.bmp" resolution="300 dpi"/>

But should I add a code for the other map in the Mission2.zts file?

It's the 'Mission 2' bmp file.
