Hi, IClaudius, I could open the link, your work is very impressive. :o Trick hat. Thanks! Was it long to develop such a game ? I mean SF. Not much. Creating the countersheet files was somewhat troublesome; each countersheet tab in the gamebox represents four real-life countersheets. I think I spent...

Europa gameboxes won't be distributed

I have just talked to Gar Olmstead, from HMS/GRD, and he has asked that I do not distribute the gameboxes I created for Europa games. His concern is with the high-quality scans of the maps that could be easily retrieved from the gameboxes, which would be in violation of HMS/GRD's copyrights.

My web server is down since early this morning. The tech personnel are promising to have it back on-line in a few hours.

Re: On the web...

I've stumbled upon a report of a solitaire game of Second Front using ZunTzu by Luiz Cláudio Duarte: http://www.luiz.claudio.nom.br/sf/report.html . Second Front is part of the Europa series, a complex simulation of World War II at division level with two-week turns and sixteen mile hexes. Not exac...

You'd better quit Europa now!
Hmm... yeah, that makes sense. But I will continue with my monsters, thank you very much. :D

Yet another feature: a counter in play still appears in a vague outline in a countersheet. This is useful, as we can readily see if a counter is in play; but it would be more useful if there was a means to locate the counter on the maps.

Revealing the terrain

Another feature that may be useful: a button (or key, whatever) that when pressed hides all units, so that we can see the map beneath them without having to move stacks.

Re: ZunTzu's limits

Is this a program limitation, or can it be solved by adding memory to my machine? Hi, lclaudius! You're pushing the envelope here. If your figures are correct, your map is really huge, something like 19,000x22,000 pixels! Such a map would require 1,200 MB of memory when uncompressed. It makes me wo...

ZunTzu's limits

I think I hit upon one of ZunTzu's technical limits; I tried to load a big map --- 318 x 366 cm at 150 dpi --- and ZunTzu crashed with an out of memory error.

Is this a program limitation, or can it be solved by adding memory to my machine?

Re: Major update

Is this version 1.1? The About box still reports version 1.0.

Is there a way to start ZunTzu off-line

Is there a way of starting ZunzTzu off-line? Yesterday my Internet connection was spotty, and ZunTzu was taking forever to load --- and I was only testing some new gameboxes, I didn't need to connect to the Internet.

Warning to save the game

Jerome, a (possible) bug: when you have an ongoing game, there is no save game warning if you ask to load a scenery, it just loads without confirmation.

If ZunTzu fails to determine the correct address, it is not a good sign. You'll probably have trouble hosting a game. Well, it seems that the problem was a compound one: the ADSL router was blocking the port and the Linux firewall was configured to block everything also. When I opened the port on t...
