Live chat - to find a game

Hi Jerome, I know that this has been posted before, and I know that you have other issues before you - but I have to say that the #1 thing that is limiting the expansion of ZunTzu into the mainstream "online boardgame" foray is the lack of an opponent finder; ala a live chat or bulletin bo...

Per the FAQ: Q. What are the system requirements to install and run ZunTzu? A. ZunTzu runs only on Windows XP (sorry Mac and Linux folks). You need a 3D card that meets the requirements for DirectX 7. And of course you'll need to be connected to the Internet. A broadband connection is recommended, b...

For the PEBM utility it will be very useful to have a button that indicates the phase where you are in ceratin games, economic phase, reaction pahse, reinforcement phase, fire phase... etc... doing the creation of the gamebox you indicate the different phases and inside the game a simple button to ...

Download and unzip the "Poker" gamebox. That is what I used as a template when making any games that have card decks in them. It even has a nice "card_mask.png" file that you can use (you might have to down-sample it as I believe it's @ 300 dpi).

Beren, I'm just curious; why the WiF adaptation to ZunTzu - is it because you prefer the way that ZT functions? I ask because I know that the VASSAL module for WiF is supposed to be quite extensive so I'm wondering why the duplication of effort (so to speak). And not criticizing you on that - as a m...

Another request - I think I mentioned this before but as a reminder.... I'd like to see a yellow box or highlight of some sort around the dice that were just rolled. When you have a game that rolls a lot of dice to determine combat, you can easily lose track of which were just rolled and which weren...

Yes, just specify that they are 150 dpi in the XML file(s). I think that they look just fine, even when you zoom in. Probably much better than a scan job of all those maps for WiF I would think.

The new game from MMP, "Iwo Jima: Rage Against The Marines" uses an "OpsMap" that the Japanese player secretly places his units on (hidden from the US player view). So along the same lines, is future support for this type of feature in the works Jerome?

I'd save yourself the trouble and first ask the permission of and then use the nicely drawn maps found in the VASSAL module. See http://www.theletterj.net/ for the module (which is just a .zip file like what a .ztb is).

I use "WyldRyde" IRC chat services on one of my gaming sites and it has worked well and was very easy to add to the existing sites layout. See http://www.wyldryde.org/ for more info Jerome, this might be a simple way to have people connect to find opponents using ZunTzu.

Ok, guess I was more excited about this than anybody else as there appears to be no interest in completing an online version that everybody could use. That's fine, the lack of response tells me not to invest the time, which is cool too. Don't let this discourage you Jerome, I think there's a good nu...

ZunTzu gamebox creation assist tool

Ok, I know that Jerome has stated that he is working on such a tool, but being the impatient type, I came up with one of my own. Actually, below is a link to a portion of it. Details: I find that the most time consuming part of creating a gamebox (aside from the graphics) is getting all the x,y coor...

Just an FYI Jerome but an acquintance of mine tried to install ZunTzu on his Vista platform PC and was unable to do so. I can get the full spec's and any error messages from him if you like. His email merely said: Just to let you know that I cannot get ZunTzu to work under Vista (Home Premium) even ...

Is there a list of any other new features Jerome? Thanks again for all of your hard work and support, love the program! Oh yes - we had chatted here about a utility that would help people create gameboxes. I find that the most time consuming thing (aside from scanning/creating graphics) is getting a...

FYI: I uninstalled ZT and then reinstalled and now the problem is fixed. I don't know why it took me so long to just do that - maybe because I thought that the uninstall/reinstall process would be a detailed one or something. I still think that my problem was as I described in my previous post above...
