Joshua, a hearty thank you ! I'm quite glad to see activity on ZunTzu again. I'm glad to see you back! I think I was looking for one of your gameboxes, no longer linked to your site. It was one of Jerome's favorites as an example of an "extreme" gamebox, but we couldn't find a copy. As fo...

Re: Wasteful masks (?)

Am I right in thinking that ZT allocates a separate chunk of RAM for front and back counter masks, even when front and back masks are exactly the same? And if so, is this not needlessly wasteful of resources? Regards, Bill. There is probably exactly one person who has the ability to answer this que...

Are you thinking of something like pulsing all the counters on the map as if you were hovered over them with the mouse? Exactly that, but I think there should also be an option to include/exclude cards too (and maybe terrains). We might be able to add a toggle for that over on the side, near the tr...

How would we do that?

Ean
I would do that, as site admin. I'll talk to Jerome about it.

I just wanted to chime in here on the idea of a "hidden stack inspector". In my playtests we sometimes have a game action where multiple players must select a random item from their personal supply (select their stack, open the inspector, shuffle and draw one off the top). As currently im...

It's mainly an issue with large wargames, where you frequently want to zoom out to review the overall strategic situation. The "shadows" on counters quickly become invisible even at low extremes... Are you thinking of something like pulsing all the counters on the map as if you were hover...

Unfortunately I don't - I've looked at a lot  However, as soon as I get it I'll use it on one of the projects I've got in the pipeline and then signpost it here... Regards, Bill. I should have Nuklear Winter '68 done in the next couple weeks, and that will probably be our exemplar, then. -- j...

If you can remember which one, perhaps that would be good to mention as an exemplar.

Regards, Bill.
It encrypts assets inside the gamebox. You can still extract them (still a .zip file), but the contents are each encrypted.

In case anyone is interested I did find this comment on VGG: ZunTzu is great on my windows 8 touchscreen except for one rather major problem. Flipping counters and cards is done with a double right click, and I can't find a simple way of managing that from a touchscreen. There may be some way of ma...

Re: Encryption

Who do I contact to get the software to do this? Is it still Jerome? I'm having some trouble getting full resolution graphics from GMT for a module I'm building for them, and figure that if it's encrypted they might be more forthcoming  Regards, Bill. I thought you already contacted him about...

Don't get me wrong - a bug's a bug and every one you find should be treated with extreme prejudice  I think the stack inspector could use some more "love", feature wise. I've been exercising its use. And, like I said, I am specifically working on a gamebox with draw cup mechanics. H...

If you guys look back at dates, you might realize that I started putting in defects at the point it looked likely Jerome would approve me to non-end-of-life the 1.x codebase (sneaky, eh?) :) While it's important with a product that's basically frozen in time to amelioriate the issues that come up (&...

That's all correct, but it's unnecessary to define the main map "gameboard" as a "Terrain", unless you have a compelling reason to do so. There's no need to complicate things - especially in a first gamebox. Regards, Bill. Sorry, I'm too wrapped in geomorphic map games. :) Diffe...
