However

I get screen flashes -- every so often the Zun Tzu screen turns white. Is there a way to adjust the refresh rate within Zun Tzu?

Zun Tzu with NVICIA C2075 and Windows 7-Solution

The screen has to be released so that it moves away from 4x3 graphics. Click Start (thats the microsoft-colors button usually at lower-left of screen) Zun Tzu will not launch: inadequate graphics. Auxiliary symptom: On the screen, circles appear as ovals. Type the three characters CMD (in "Sear...

You'll need to give more specific details...

Regards, Bill.
I get the error "Graphics Card Does not meet Zun Tzu's minimum requirements. Are the drivers installed?' and ZunTzu does not open. I can bring up Vassal.

Inadequate graphics will not run

I am running on windows 7, with DirectX 11 installed. Video is provided through an installed Nvidia Tesla C2075 (484 core GPU processor) as installed today. I am seeing graphics elsewhere as I go.

It appears as though the ZunTzu system check does not like my system.

Does anyone have advice?

Avalon Hill 1914, Tactics II

For my forthcoming book "Designing Board Wargames - An Introduction" I could really use Game Boxes for Avalon Hill's 1914 and Tactics II. We do not seem to have these. Perhaps I am missing them. Does someone have them hidden someplace?

New Zun Tzu features

Mindful the the more features there are, the less useful they become, until you reach Mathematica and its multi-inch instruction manual: 1) Split screen, so I can compare the final position with the initial position, and catch illegal moves. 2) Position tagging of initial and final positions with co...

Avalon Hill 1914 did this. The material realization was two pieces of cardboard having the same ID number on both sides.

Re: Zun Tzu 2.0 is iOS only ?

I do not own a tablet, and have no plans to buy one, so I have no interest in the iOS version; I look forward to the windows version.

How does a board game have counters with 3 or 4 sides to them? They are called "block" games (Columbia Games, e.g.,), are commercially successful, and work by stacking the unit counters on their thin sides, and then rotating them around a horizontal axis. The unit counters are made of woo...

Hi George, Speaking of books, I am reading Jon Peterson's "Playing at the World, a history of simulating wars, people and fantastic adventures from chess to role-playing games". Fascinating! You are quoted a zillion times in the book. I was wondering: I suppose you met Gygax, but did you ...

The Prospectus for the Project

Noting the sad fading away of players of war games, I am starting to write two short (by my standards) books, namely "Stalingrad for Beginners" and "Stalingrad for the Intermediate Player". I hope to finish them within a year. The objectives are to introduce new players to the ga...

The map is attractive. Correcting any map errors would be positive. Adding names to the two islands in the Baltic would be nice, even though they play no role in the game. I personally find the markers on Leningrad, Moscow, and Stalingrad to be a bit garish, but if I did a map the results would be a...

or two about play of the classic title Stalingrad. I would be interested in using Zun Tzu to generate pictures of small segments of the board to discuss rules and tactical issues. However, I cannot find contact info for the people who did the Stalingrad box. Note that the ZunTzu Stalingrad pieces an...
