Port 1805 in use?

Do you need help installing or using ZunTzu? Would you like to report a bug?

Port 1805 in use?

Post by Kessadir »

Hello.

I've got a problem while trying to host a game on ZunTzu (Windows XP).
After going to Menu -> Multiplayer -> Host, I click on the "Host" button, and then ZunTzu tells me that the 1805 port is reserved by another program, and I should try a different one.

I've been able to host ZunTzu games like almost a year ago, and now that I've returned to it, this problem seems to be standing in my way.

Anyone got a idea on what might be wrong?

Hi Kessadir!

I am not sure how to fix that but I'll try anyway. Have you configured your broadband box to forward port 1805?

With Windows XP, ZunTzu will automatically ask your broadband box to let packets go through port 1805. That is called UPnP.
If you have already manually forwarded port 1805 then the box will respond that the port is already in use, hence the error.

The solution:
- remove the manual forwarding of port 1805 in the settings of your broadband box.
- OR disable UPnP in the settings of your broadband box.

I hope it helps.
